Ég efast um það að afmælibarn dagsins verði fastur liður á þessari síðu, en ég get þó ekki látið vera að minnast á það að ein svalasta kona rokksögunnar er 55 ára í dag. Já, Kim Gordon úr Sonic Youth er víst orðin hálfsextug en kúlheitin leka samt enn af henni. Það er þess vegna vel tímans virði að rifja upp nokkur lög með kellingunni:

Endrum og eins tekur Kim líka upp á því að endurvekja sveitina Free Kitten, sem að auki skipa Julia Cafritz úr Pussy Galore og Yoshimi P-We úr Boredoms. Mark Ibold úr Pavement spilaði líka með þeim um tíma (og reyndar með Sonic Youth á þeirra síðasta túr) en verður ekki með á nýju Free Kitten plötunni, Inherit, sem kemur út nú í maí. I doubt that I will regularly bring up someone’s birthdays here but I have to mention that one of the coolest women in rock is 55 years old today. Yes, Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth is well into her fifties but still is rocks more than anyone else. It’s well worth our time to revise some old songs with her:

Once in a while Kim brings back Free Kitten, but also in the band are Julia Cafritz from Pussy Galore and Yoshimi P-We from Boredoms. Mark Ibold of Pavement played bass for a while (and also joined Sonic Youth on their last tour) but is not on the new Free Kitten album, Inherit, which will be released in May.
